Kallu Sakkare (ಕಲ್ಲು ಸಕ್ಕರೆ) is called ROCK SUGAR in English. It is also known as mishri or misri in Hindi, kalkandu in Tamil, patika bellam in Telugu, and kallu sharkara in Malayalam. The Kannada name means "stone sugar", after its translucent, rock-like crystals.

It is a natural crystalline sugar made by slowly evaporating sugarcane juice.
